Philip is a professional Chartered Engineer (MIEE) and Fellow of the Institute of Measurement and Control and has 20 years of pragmatic experience in the design and justification of safety systems in process, offshore, nuclear and many other industries.

Formerly the Engineering Manager with the well respected safety systems company, Hima-Sella Ltd and before that with PWR Power Projects Ltd he has built a very thorough understanding of functional safety. More recently supplemented with a research project lasting more than 2 years on the justification of ‘smart ‘ instruments in safety related applications on behalf of the UK nuclear industry, that has added further insights into the justification of ‘safety-related’ instrumentation.
